This September, help us celebrate the 260th birthday of General Lafayette who not only famously fought for American independence alongside our founding fathers, but also later spent the night at one of (future) Rolesville's earliest local inns. As an advocate of liberty for all, Lafayette counted as friends (alongside many others) George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and John Quincy Adams. The latter called Lafayette one of the important "benefactors of mankind." [Plaster Bust after "Marquis de Lafayette, before 1789" by Jean-Antoine Houdon, Little House Museum] But Rolesville has its own hero to celebrate...stay tuned!
